Idex Paris-Saclay
In the context of a territory where are the first French university in the Shanghai ranking, the most prestigious French schools, and where research organizations deploy their forces more than anywhere else in France, the ambition to achieve excellence in an area of cooperation was part of a integrated absolute requirement.
That is why the partners of the Foundation for Scientific Cooperation decided to anchor the strategy of IDEX Paris-Saclay in an area of excellence structured, beyond its intrinsic reality, through synergies that borrow from each partners (universities, schools, organizations) which characterizes the highest international standards.
Thus the IDEX is based primarily on the development of a continuum from basic science to the applied sciences, leveraging the strengths, skills, diversity and richness of experiences of different actors. The approach is to make it operational and to increase the potential of this continuum in the dimensions of training, research and innovation. It is part of the pursuit of four objectives:
- train and promote the players of tomorrow by combining research training and project culture;
- meet the requirements of basic science and the scientific challenges attached to major social issues and the emergence of new themes;
- provide a link to "organic" between research results and innovation strategy;
- contribute to the influence of France in international research, higher education and innovation by placing the territory university of Paris-Saclay transformed in the top 10 worldwide in the Shanghai ranking.
